The Arts Society Cranleigh was founded in 1995 by Adrian Randag and his wife. We originally met in the Bucks Green Hall but moved to Cranleigh after the Arts Centre was completed.The Society has always been a vibrant and stimulating place where people interested in the arts can gather to increase their knowledge on a wide variety of art subjects.The added bonus of visits to exhibitions and historic sites has added greatly to the enjoyment of members over the years.  Founder members have attended almost 300 lectures and innumerable visits over the years. Several of the original members still attend meetings as the Society continues to flourish.

Our first Life President was Sue Handley a founder member of the Society at Bucks Green and Chairman for many years when it moved to the Arts Centre. When she retired  in February 2008, Cranleigh Decorative and Fine Arts Society, as we were known in those days, awarded Life Membership to Sue to mark her outstanding contribution to the local branch. 

We are committed to promoting the arts to young people through school-based project work. In the first half of 2023 our Young Arts Team has  completed two very interesting and successful projects in local schools. more details and photographs are available in the and  the Vounteering section and in the Gallery.

As a member society of The Arts Society we enjoy all the benefits of a national arts group, which includes a high quality quarterly journal, access to study days, foreign travel and contact with experts across the whole spectrum of the arts.
