Welcome to The Arts Society Cranleigh
The Arts Society Cranleigh is a very welcoming group with a current membership of around 230. We aim to complement members’ interest in the arts in the widest sense of the word through talks, study groups, outings and holidays to places of interest. In addition, we have a thriving project which encourages and supports local young people’s interest in the arts through school-based project work. We are one of 17 local Arts Society groups in the West Surrey area.
As a member of the national The Arts Society federation we enjoy several benefits which include a high quality quarterly journal, access to study days, foreign travel and contact with experts across the whole spectrum of the arts.
We meet in the superb auditorium of the Cranleigh Arts Centre with its raked seating and state of the art sound and projection systems. A hearing loop system is in place. See our Where we meet page for more information.
Talks are given monthly, except in August and December, on the fourth Wednesday of the month starting at 2.00pm. Guests and members of the public are welcome at these talks. Guest attendance is free, however a voluntary donation to the Society as a contribution towards its operating costs would be appreciated.
In addition to our monthly talks, we arrange day visits to places of interest. These are generally by coach leaving from Stocklund Square but can also be self-drive. These are very popular with members and are booked on a first come first served basis. We also offer occasional group holidays in the UK and abroad on an arts-related theme, usually organised through specialist tour operators (see Visits and Tours).
