The  visit for September has a focus of something you may not have heard about. The name is KYNREN.. and it is an amazing award-winning spectacle. It has won a special top award this year.. and Jacqui and I felt it was not to be missed having been on our radar for several years. Bonding this, ‘Simply Groups’ have expertly combined our interests in Glasgow.. but also that rare opportunity to visit Dumfries House made famous by King Charles lll’s keen interest and intervention!!

The Leicester visit is triggered by our Special Interest morning to be held on February 3. It will feature two lectures given by literally a world expert. Tobias Capwell rode in armour at the head of the procession when King Richard lll was reinterred in Leicester Cathedral.  

 Linking this lecture to our visit in July, the itinerary offers the usual gems including Leicester and ‘beyond’, expanding our knowledge and experiences to anything from ‘King in the car park’, to Oliver Cromwell and to finish, William Shakespeare All based in a 4 Star hotel.  Gwen Wright

We have waited and planned hard to reach this point and I am delighted to share the details of the promised "Madrid" tour for 2024. You will see attached the full details and booking form for "Madrid".  Bookings can be taken by Simply Groups from Monday 27th November.

As soon as you read it - you will realise that, like all our Simply Groups tours, it is so much more that just "Madrid"!  

Of course it features the key elements one would want to visit in Madrid - including the Sorolla museum which matches our scheduled lecture in April next year!   Visiting other UNESCO sites and cities such as Avila, Segovia not to mention Salamanca!! You need only do some research and you will immediately know that these places are true gems and not to be missed when visiting that area.

We are aware that prices are rising and Simply Groups themselves have been surprised by increases for next year.  That said you will note that essentially all meals are covered in the package with very little need to spend further - maybe that odd drink?!!

We will give priority booking to current members of 'The Arts Society Cranleigh'.  Any further vacancies will be offered to other Arts Societies  or to other interested parties.
